Monticello Cup Wine Competition 2026

Our estate grown 2026 Nebbiolo wins gold in the 2026 Monticello Cup Wine Competition.

We’re honored that our 2023 Estate Grown Nebbiolo has been awarded a Gold Medal in the 2026 Monticello Wine Trail Cup Competition, just weeks after earning 91 Points at the Decanter World Wine Awards, and a couple months after earning Gold in the Virginia Wine Governor’s Cup.

It has been incredibly rewarding to see our first estate-grown vintage of Nebbiolo embraced by both judges and guests alike.
Our journey with this remarkable Italian variety began years ago with our L’Invité (French for “The Invited”) limited label series that welcomed exceptional fruit from Santa Barbara into our cellar, giving us the opportunity to explore Nebbiolo while our own estate vines matured.

Today, the story has come full circle. The 2023 vintage is the first Nebbiolo crafted entirely from fruit grown in our own vineyard and we believe is a wine that reflects the unique soils, climate, and overall character of our vineyard.

Following a brief pre-release, the 2023 Nebbiolo will now return to our cellar to continue developing in bottle before its full release. We believe patience is part of what makes Nebbiolo so rewarding, and we’re excited to watch this wine continue to evolve.

In the meantime, we’re pleased to continue offering the remaining thirty retail cases of the 2019 L’Invité Nebbiolo in the tasting room and showcase the chapter that led us here while we await the next.

Thank you to competition organizer Frank Morgan, the judges, our vineyard and cellar teams, and everyone who has joined us on this journey with Nebbiolo. We can’t wait to share what’s next 🍇
